iLuvQuran with the Syrian children at Raudhah Zuhr al-Ghad

Today, iLuvQuran had the opportunity to organize a special class with the kids at the Syrian Refugee School here in Istanbul.

With the funds that we've obtained from the Ramadhan crowdfunding campaign, we have managed to provide the children with a Happy Quran Kit of Surah Al-Qadr, a balloon, badge and chocolates! Not only that, Ustazah Marwah Saari got to do some storytelling linking it back to the activities done with the Quran Kit. We’ve done this programme for Syrian refugees in Malaysia too, as well as cancer patients, orphans and asnaf children.

Pictures from today!

This trip would've not been fulfilled if not for the generosity from Dr Nik & Associates, an engineering consulting company who has partially sponsored our trip to see these children, Hana Valley hijabs for the hijab gifts for their six ustazahs, and of course you friends and family who have been very supportive all along. May Allah bless.

The school is beautiful, well-taken care of, with professional management and loving teachers. However, they had to close a few months ago due to the lack of funds, but reopened as parents pleaded to have the school- as they have no other options for their children. They also have a sister school in Idlib, a refugee camp in the border of Turkey-Syria, which could use the funds as well. Therefore, we would like to announce that we are taking in donations where all funds collected will be passed to the waqf school for them to use in Istanbul or Idlib as needed.

If you wish to donate, you can transfer the donations to the bank account details below until Sunday, 5 December, 12AM Malaysian time.

Al-Falaq

When we started iLuvQuran, our goal was to make Quranic learning different. Something that children would look forward to, something exciting, adventurous, fun. Today, we made an experiment with our seedlings relating it back to a Surah from the Quran; Al-Falaq.

If you didn't already know, the word "Al-Falaq" is understood in two different ways - Allah alone controls the transition of night and day, as well as the symbolic meaning of light of daytime, which represents goodness and truth.

From the experiment, children can learn that light is separated from darkness. Likewise, goodness and evil do not mix. Therefore, we must always ask Allah to keep us on the path of goodness and to protect us from harm.

If you like what you're seeing, feel free to find out more about us on our website!

P/S: We're still taking in admissions for class of 2021/2022!

The Dua of Prophet Musa AS

A lot of times, Allah puts you through a hard time because He misses you. Misses hearing you call out to Him, misses you asking for His help. Although often times, whenever I do feel like I'm getting closer to the Deen, I hear this nagging voice at the back of my head, "You haven't been good your whole life, what makes you deserve to be helped by Allah?" and oftentimes, I kept on falling for Shaytaan's tricks.

Until one day when I was really just at my worst, a friend sent me a verse in the Quran. This is the Dua of Nabi Musa AS; Quran 28:24, "My Lord! I am truly in desperate need of whatever good You may have in store for me." This is the Dua that kept me going, because it is human nature to be clingy and needy; but if you do it right and be one with God, it is nothing to be shameful of. Rather, it is a respectable attributes that not many have. This Dua, gave me hope and I do wish that it would do the same thing to you as it did me <:

Alhamdulillah, a few years passed but we still feel giddy every time we receive feedbacks from the parents! We really appreciate the support, and it is these kind words that pushes our teachers, founders, and workforce here in iLuvQuran to do and be better. We thank you for entrusting us with your children’s education journey and we do hope that one day, we’d see them as powerful caliphs, leaders in the future.

We look forward to grow our community and hope that you'd still be with us along our journey! Thank you again <:

True wealth is the richness of the soul

Prophet SAW once said that, "Wealth is not in having many possessions. Rather, true wealth is the richness of the soul." (Bukhari 6446)

Countless times, as I walk pass the corridors of my university, I've always wondered why am I studying? Mountains of stress, classes, homeworks, assignments, all of that for just a piece of paper certifying that you've completed your studies. Why go through all the struggle? It's pretty simple, I'm Asian <:

Jokes asides though, I think we've always grown in an environment where parents would encourage us to "belajar pandai-pandai" because at the end of it, we'll grow to be useful people, we'll grow to be one of the most powerful people, gamechanger, influencers, entrepreneurs and others. We're taught that if we get a good degree, we'd get a good job and all would goes well after day, because good job pays good, right?

The idea of this used to excite me so much, being rich, owning it all; because everyday I walk pass the corridors of my university, I've always envied a lot of my peers, coming in with designers, macbooks, iPads, etc. that it got to the point where I ignore the favours Allah has given me. I've got family, siblings, clothes, money for food and what more do I want to ask for? How could I forget that these are all worldly materials? The materials that you won't see or bring to the Hereafter.

Sometimes, we're so stuck to the reality that we forget that the Dunya is just a temporary stop that we make before heading to our permanent abode. This Dunya is a test, and although it does sound pretty good to own it all, what good is owning it all if your soul is no good?

Moving back to the hadith, I believe that the richness of the soul means constantly feeding your soul with food; Quran and knowledge to name a few, is known to be the sustenance you never know you needed.

Less is better

Assalamualaikum, I hope you’re all doing well today because you’re in for a heart-to-heart x

I feel like I could say that right now, we’re living in an era where the mass majority romanticises on obtaining someone else’s life; or that having more things is better. We’ve been sold into the idea that their life is so much better we forget that they too, have their own struggles and tests that God had promised – after all, He is fair and just. Sometimes, having less is the real luxury.

Today, I am here to remind you that your wealth will be a witness for you on the day of judgement, you can decide whether it would be going against you or helping you get into Jannah. Fret not though, you’re not the only one struggling with this, and I have a plan to counter this!

1.      Shop only if you need it, not when you want it.

2.      Focus on charity, not consumerism.

3.      Quality, not quantity.

4.      Borrow, lend, or exchange stuff. Sometimes, you don’t always need to buy it.

Remember, this dunya is not permanent, so we should always try to better ourselves to so that we could obtain the best home, Jannah, for when we finally rest.

P/S: You could also invest into nurturing your child into a good Muslim and what better way to do this than with us! Find out more on our website! We're still taking in admissions for class of 2021/2022 <:

CARS.

I guess this would be a pretty unusual topic to talk about but let’s talk about cars. Recently I’ve been struggling a lot with final year of university and decided to do an impromptu trip to Genting Highlands. As I was driving, I had this thought about how we’re always focused on what’s in front of us while we drive so that we’ll be alert as to when it’s time for us to slow down and normally, we wouldn’t even be driving fast up and down Genting or even through the city as a precautious step to avoid car crashes, right?

Well, think of our lives as a car. Our dreams and goals would be THE car and we cannot always go through them as fast as a lightning. Why? If we do, we might crash and it won’t just affect us, but also the people around us. That’s why it is good to always slow down.

Take a deep breathe, and slow down. Rest up because you need this. Take this time to heal, to learn. It’s okay to take in life as you go because life is not a race, it is a drive.

iLuvQuran not only aim to take your children’s Quran journey pace by pace but we would ensure that they enjoy learning the same way we do enjoy bringing out new materials to make your kid’s Quranic experience, the best one yet. Find out more at our Facebook page or our website!
